Nanjing Zhujiang Road, known as "Zhongguancun in the north and Zhujiang Road in the south", is a very well-known science and technology street. After more than ten years of development, Zhujiang Road has become the largest trading center of electronic and computer products in East China, and has been listed as one of the eight major information projects in Jiangsu Province.


In the past 30 years, Zhujiang Road has experienced the transformation from an electronic and computer street to a science and technology park, and now it has entered a new stage of transformation and development.


Since 2015, the government has taken Zhujiang Road as the leader, integrated the carrier space of traditional industries, further promoted mass entrepreneurship and innovation, and strived to build more than 50,000平方米 of mass creation space in about three years, and carried out facade renovation projects for existing buildings in Chuangye Street of Zhujiang Road.

The existing building renovation project has its unique cultural reasons, humanistic reasons, renovation technology, renovation difficulty, implementation environment and other particularities. For the facade renovation project of Future City on Chuangye Street, Zhujiang Road, Nanjing, under the overall design principle of respecting the current conditions, improving the quality, making it easy to difficult, and integrating into the city, FORCITIS cooperated with Shuishi International to analyze the project from the aspects such as technical feasibility, economic feasibility and social benefits, in order to effectively improve the correctness of the decision-making of existing building renovation projects.


After 44 days, FORCITIS cooperated with the project to realize the project scheme, selected the facade materials of facade, reviewed the facade construction drawings and inspected the site construction quality, and finally completed the reconstruction of the 1-4 floors of the model section. Including the steel column facade on the first floor, breaking line facade on the 2-4 floors, two-story high glass box steel column facade with a width of 24m. Due to the tight duration of the project, it is one of the difficulties of the renovation project that the renovated facade subverts the original facade (which is composed of glass box with a glass distance of 1500mm from the structural plane and breaking line facade).


For the renovation of existing projects, FORCITIS thinks that in the preliminary preparation stage, it is necessary to collect the structural design schemes of existing projects first, and carry out the facade design of the project on the basis of meeting the stress requirements of the original structure, or cooperate with the structural consultant to carry out structural review simultaneously according to the facade requirements when designing the facade scheme. The particularity of existing building renovation determines that it is a typical complex renovation activity with multi-disciplinary and multi-professional cooperation, which needs close cooperation and common cooperation.
