 Project background 



Zhengzhong Science Park is located in Jiaoyiwan Plate, Marina Bay New District. The project is invested and constructed by Dongguan Zhengzhong Technology Development Co., Ltd., covering an area of about 222,600㎡, with a total construction area of about 890,400㎡ and a total investment of RMB 8.3 billion. Zhengzhong Science Park is designed and built based on the development and operation concept of "serving science and technology innovation and talents", and will be built into a landmark science and technology innovation park in the intelligent era integrating cutting-edge science and technology innovation, science and technology service empowerment, high-end talent pooling and international exchanges and cooperation.

 Design idea 



Zhengzhong Science Park is located at the gateway of Jiaoyi Bay, Marina Bay New District, Dongguan, and is positioned as "the world-class science and technology innovation headquarters and the landmark of science and technology innovation in Bay Area". The architectural design of the project is based on Wang Ximeng's famous painting "Thousands Miles of Mountains and Rivers" handed down from ancient times in the Northern Song Dynasty, and a variety of architectural shapes combining art and technology, such as "Thousands Miles of Mountains and Rivers" and "Lofty Mountains And Flowing Water", are planned for the project, which will become a brand-new industrial image cover of Greater Bay Area. Zhengzhong Science Park aims at the full-format science and technology production city complex, and plans five major formats, including high-end R&D office, pilot production base and science and technology talent apartment, to build a new pattern of deep integration of production, life and ecology in the industrial park.

 Facade design 



 Triangular unit facade system 


8 (Double Silver Low-E) + 12A +8 ultra clear insulating tempered glass is selected as the surface material of visual part of triangular unit facade system. The non-visible part is in the form of 8mm ultra clear tempered (heat reflection coated) glass + 8mm cement pressure plate. The column height of standard floor is 4,200mm, and that of refuge floor is 4,600mm. On the premise of satisfying the functions of waterproofing and normal use of buildings, the triangular unit facade system ensures the facade effect of facade that architects want to express, and also solves the waterproof system of triangular unit plate, so that buildings with curved surface can use unit facade structure and save materials.




 High mountain facade 


The included angle of skirt has exceeded the definition of inclined glass facade. If this scheme is applied, the insulating laminated glass (laminated glass is used for the inner sheet) will be required. If the outer sheet is also laminated, the northern facade of the alpine system should be the double laminated insulating tempered glass. Considering the color consistency, it is recommended to use double laminated insulating tempered glass for configuration. If the surface skirt of the construction scheme is adjusted more than 75°, the cost can be effectively reduced, and the cost per sqm can be reduced by about RMB 25/sqm.




 Flowing water facade 


The flowing water area of the existing scheme exceeds 4㎡, which does not meet the requirements of the owner and consultant. In terms of glass configuration: 8 +12 +8 insulating ultra clear tempered glass is used for 4㎡ plate, and 10 +12 +10 insulating ultra clear tempered glass is used for 5㎡ plate. Plates of different materials and areas are combined with flowing water to create a novel and unique flowing landscape effect.



Angle analysis


Two adjacent facades of 13# and 14# Tower are double curved surface shape. After a series of warping values and area analysis, it is suggested that the space frame method should be used to fit the torsion caused by double curved surface.



Analysis of warpage value and area


The arc radius of glass is 45m, and the glass is basically flat, so it is difficult to form a single curve of glass, only the cold-forming method of glass can be adopted.



As the step difference of 289mm is too large, the finished surface is only 350mm, and the plate is easy to touch the structure. In order to control the error, the glass at 100mm position is the glass with double curved surface, and the system needs to absorb the error about 100mm.



 Saw-toothed facade 


The plane of saw-toothed facade is composed of regular or irregular diagonal lines. On the one hand, through the contrast between the virtual and the real forms, the three-dimensional sense and hierarchy of the building are stronger, and the visual effect presented to people is more shocking. For the two inclined planes of saw-toothed facade, we can give different facade plate materials with different textures. When we are in different perspectives of the building, there will be different architectural effects, which will bring diversity and variability to the building and enrich the facade decoration effect of the building.


Effect display


 Design of complex double curved surface 


The outer surface of the project should be the design technique of space torsion and contraction. There are three solutions to the complex design of double curved surface: on-site cold-forming, space-frame and misaligned plug-in methods.


Because the curved surface of lofty mountains and flowing water is warped greatly, the warpage below 20mm can be solved by using space frame + glass cold-forming. The installation mode is the same as that of conventional units, which can realize large-angle torsion of unit items.
