The Hangzhou Ujite Special Environmental Protection Center is located in Xiaoshan District, a key location in the commercial circle, with a superior geographical location and convenient transportation. The office building is surrounded by sound infrastructure such as financial enterprises, high-end restaurants, and entertainment. This project is a typical modern style decoration, showcasing classic business qualities of simplicity and fashion everywhere.

As the headquarters building of Ujite Company, its exterior design is particularly important. This project adopts a curtain wall method that combines glass curtain wall and window wall. The architect is based on low energy consumption, low pollution, and low emissions, and highlights the lightweight architectural form and design concept through large decorative lines on the exterior, showcasing the comfort, beauty, and atmosphere of the new era headquarters building.
This project adopts different curtain wall systems in the main building and podium of different elevations. The specific application diagram can be seen by sliding in the following figure for more introduction to curtain wall systems.

In order to meet the requirements of facade effect and ensure the quality of its results, it is necessary to focus more on improving production efficiency and cost control in facade design. The following content will introduce the innovative application highlights in facade design from the aspects of glass cantilever wings, window wall systems, roof waterproofing methods, etc.
Glass cantilever wings
The surrounding glass wings are a major highlight of this project. To achieve the effect of glass wings overhanging in poor structural conditions, it is not only necessary to achieve the building facade effect, but also to meet the structural stress requirements. The force is applied on the steel columns measured internally, and three larger steel columns and steel beams are used to achieve the effect of external wing overhang.
The large-area Low-E glass curtain wall organically integrates factors such as architectural aesthetics, functionality, energy efficiency, and structure, allowing the Ujite Environmental Protection Center to present different color tones from different perspectives and dynamic beauty with changes in sunlight, moonlight, and lighting.
Due to the pure cantilever method of the glass wing, it cannot be directly fixed to the structure. To meet the calculation requirements, the glass wing column is fixed on the side column, and the specifications of the adjacent three columns are appropriately expanded according to the calculation value.
The specification of the flying wing column is 180x100x6 hot-dip galvanized steel pipe, which is connected to three 200x150x8 galvanized steel square joints by 180x100x6 hot-dip galvanized steel pipe crossbeam connectors.

Roof waterproof
The roof waterproofing adopts three waterproofing processes: sealant, galvanized steel plate, and batch watered steel plate.
The specific steps are:
1.The top pillar, decorative aluminum plate, and roof sealing aluminum plate are sealed with sealant and flange cover, which is the first waterproof sealing.
2.The column is disconnected, and the top column is connected by a plug. The roof aluminum plate is fixed with the plug by gluing, which is the second waterproof sealing.
3. The roof sealing aluminum plate is made with a waterproof board inside, which serves as the third layer of waterproof sealing.
In order to maximize the protection of buildings and structures, these three measures can effectively delay the aging of waterproof materials. Extend the durability of the waterproof layer; And to a certain extent, it can reduce the structural deformation caused by roof temperature and temperature difference.

In addition, this project adopts an aluminum alloy window wall system to achieve the effect of imitating a curtain wall on the exterior facade, ensuring the continuous effect of the glass facade.
Compared with traditional modular systems, the application of window and wall systems can leave the vast majority of processes in the processing plant, avoiding the difficulties of on-site construction quality control and high installation costs, improving construction quality, and shortening construction periods.
As a building envelope structure, the exterior wall not only needs to have a beautiful appearance, but also needs to have certain functions such as waterproofing, insulation, and fire prevention. In the construction industry, exterior wall engineering management plays a crucial role.

The problem encountered in the quality management of the project site is that the roof waterproofing method was not constructed according to the drawings, resulting in significant water leakage hazards.

Solution: After communicating with the construction party, the construction party installed stainless steel water blocking channels around the pillars at the roof junction position, and made galvanized steel sheet water covering plates and aluminum sheet cover plates according to the drawing requirements.

In addition, due to the large number of project systems and complex exterior design, a lot of effort was also spent on researching methods during the design process. After the project drawings were completed, the owner also invited experts to conduct internal review of the drawings and strengthened the waterproofing and other positions.
